“You Don’t Get to Decide Kung Anong Susuotin Ng Babae”: Sofia Trazona on Respect and Assault

Sofia Trazona recently shared her thoughts on social media about sexual assault, emphasizing that a person’s clothing should never be used to justify harmful behavior.

In a Facebook post, Trazona wrote that sexual assault affects women of all ages, from newborns to adults, regardless of how they choose to dress.

“It all started because of malicious thinking,” she said, pointing out that respect should guide how people treat one another.

“You don’t get to decide kung anong susuotin ng babae just like ‘di kami nag decide na mag topless kayo pag nasa swimming. Respeto lang at the end of the day,” she added.

Her remarks came after her stepfather, Alvin Aragon, commented on Rep. Bong Suntay’s recent analogy involving Anne Curtis during a House committee hearing.

Kahit hindi si Anne ang tinitignan mo ng may pagnanasa may mag iinit sa loob mo, lalo na kapag nakalabas pa ang cleavage mo at legs,” he wrote.

In a previous interview, Trazona stated the problem lies in objectifying women, not in how they dress.

If mayroon pong someone na there’s a reaction, ‘Ay ‘yung SexBomb pa-sexy nang pa-sexy. ‘Yung damit nila sobrang revealing,’ and ini-objectify nila ‘yung SexBomb, eh mali po ‘yun, dapat hindi po tinotolerate,” she said.

Her stance highlights the ongoing conversation about mutual respect and the responsibility to address harmful thinking, rather than policing women’s clothing choices.
