Would Liza Soberano Suit the Role of Mulan?

It looks like the next live-action Disney movie will be all about our favorite Asian Disney princess: Mulan. Generally speaking, it seems like more and more Disney movies are being turned into live-action movies – and we definitely aren’t complaining! ‘Beauty and the Beast‘, for example, is set to be released in March 2017 and the trailers for it look absolutely amazing!

Unfortunately, a lot of rumours surrounding the live-action movie of ‘Mulan’ are saying that Jennifer Lawrence is being eyed to take on the role of the fierce Chinese princess.

After Scarlett Johansson was cast in ‘Ghost in the Shell’, however, people all over the world are refusing to let Hollywood white-wash another prominently Asian movie and as such, a ton of suggestions for Asian actresses who could take on the role have been popping up online.

One of the best ideas I read on the Internet is the suggestion that an Asian actress unknown to Hollywood should take on the role of Mulan.

Interestingly enough, though, some people have been suggesting our very own Liza Soberano.

Liza Soberano

I’t really isn’t much of a surprise that Liza is getting so much attention, seeing as how she was ranked as the 6th most beautiful face in the world in 2015 and how so many of the international acts that performed here this year raved about her beauty, including Charlie Puth. Since she is also the new face of Maybelline NY, she has been getting more exposure all over the world.

Liza has also been linked to the role of Mary Jane Watson in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, though that proved to be nothing more than a rumour.

For those of you who have actually seen Liza act on TV and in movies, though: do you think she could do the role of Mulan justice if she were to be considered for the role?
