World’s Smallest “Biggest” Flower Discovered In The Philippines!

The smallest giant flower has been found in the country!

According to various reports, the smallest giant flower, called Rafflesia counsueloae, has been discovered by a team of biologists from the University of the Philippines in Nueva Ecija!

The Rafflesia conseuloae has been found to have an average diameter of 3.8 inches, and is only found in the Philippines.

This newly discovered flower is part of the Rafflesia group, whose blooms can reach up to a diameter of 1.5 meters!

According to news reports, the Rafflesia consueloae has been classified as critically endangered, as per the definition set by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources, as species with less than 100 square kilometers of extent of occurrence with its two small populations.
