Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed that the search for the next actor to play the iconic British Secret Service agent is officially underway.

“While we don’t plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we’re excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right,” they added.
According to Variety, acclaimed casting director Nina Gold has joined the production team. She will work alongside executive producers Denis Villeneuve and Tanya Lapointe, with Amy Pascal and David Heyman producing the upcoming film.
The update follows comments from Amazon MGM Studios head of film Courtenay Valenti during CinemaCon last month, where she spoke about the studio’s approach to the next chapter of the franchise.
“We’re taking the time to do this with care and deep respect,” Valenti said, describing the opportunity to oversee the next Bond film as a “lifelong dream.”
“What I can tell you is this: When you pair one of the most beloved franchises in history with a world-class film-making team, including the brilliant director Denis Villeneuve, extraordinary producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman, executive producer Tanya Lapointe, and screenwriter Steven Knight, you’re setting the stage for something that’s truly worthy of the Bond legacy,” she added.
“That film is coming, and when the time is right, we’ll have much more to share.”
The actor chosen for the role will follow Daniel Craig, who portrayed James Bond in five films: Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015), and No Time to Die (2021).
Before Craig, the role was played by Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore, George Lazenby, and Sean Connery, among others.
