All the commotion going on with regards to the Bureau of Customs new policies has OFWs and their families protesting and commenting through social media. However, someone from BoC also does not seem happy with the OFWs and turned to Faceook to share her thoughts.
*We opted to hide her name and photo due to the fact that this could easily be a fake account. Please consider that as well before you opt to bash this woman.
Filipinos were outraged by this woman’s post, threatening and cursing her for what she said.
We at WhenInManila.com do not agree with these new policies, and dislike the fact that the BoC is choosing to open boxes. However, we’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt and think they have at least a slightly good reason for coming up with this conclusion… though at the moment, we aren’t sure what that is yet.
What do you guys think of Ms. R’s post?

This should not have been posted anymore. It just adds fuel to the fire and is a clear attempt to sensationalize the issue. Poor judgment on WheninManila’s part.
We should consider the possibility of the account being fake before letting out. Pwede rin namang may naninira sa kanya. Ang dali lang kaya magpanggap na ibang tao sa SNS.
Hi Jonas, yep, we actually did consider that, which is why we opted to hide her name and photo. 🙂
Roussell Tan is an ignorant woman who cannot look at anything farther than her own mirror. No empathy and she seems to lack common sense. She said that OFWs are “bobo” and “utak talangka”, but we are the major exports of the Philippines. Lakas nga ng kita ng gobyerno sa amin. Filipino labor and skills are highly coveted abroad. There’s not only one manager here in the KSA that said his company would not have survived if it were not for his Filipino staff. And that is despite Saudization here.
What she doesn’t understand is that if corruption and pilferage are not as rampant within the BoC as it were, anybody wouldn’t have any problem with the taxation and inspection of the boxes. We do recognize that it is the law and within the jurisdiction of the BoC. But we are so tired of the law being manipulated and abused for the personal gain of those in power. This is why we were so oppose and we took up arms to protect what is ours, for our families. Then she has the gall to called us “utak talangka”? If we call her back “utak talangka ka rin”, it will be an insult to all talangka. Talangka has more brain mass than Roussell Tan does.
I think that is no longer the original page of the person, the original holder of the name has deactivated her account in facebook, and these posts came from another person to add fuel to the issue, which is a different case of cyberbullying
