Will You Go and Donate Your Mementos at the Museum of Broken Relationships?

I can confirm that breaking up with someone hurts like a _______ (insert appropriate words to describe how painful it is). It’s so painful, you just want to pack your things up, leave the country, and go on for an indefinite soul-searching. Let alone, all the mementos that remind you of your ex-lover should be out of sight immediately!

However, for the artists who established a one-of-a-kind museum, breaking up shouldn’t be this awful. Artists Olinka ViÅ¡tica and Dražen GrubiÅ¡ić thought of an idea of building a museum where people with failed relationships can go to and donate their mementos.

They called it: Museum of Broken Relationships

Museum of Broken Relationships

The museum is located in Zagrab, Croatia, Laist.com confirmed. It started as a traveling exhibit but established as a museum last 2010. As the name implies, couples who break up will have the chance to showcase their souvenirs from past lover instead of throwing them.

According to the article, LA will have their own version of the “Museum of Broken Relationships” soon. Each item donated to LA museum will be showcased to people visiting the place. However, no one will ever know who donated it as only museum staff would know.

Personally, I think this is a great idea. I think we should have built something like this, too!

So, if you were to donate relics of your broken relationship, what would be? Share your thoughts below!
