It was a foggy afternoon when we arrived. The rain had followed us all the way to Tagaytay, and by the time we reached the hotel, we accepted we probably wouldn’t see the lake.
Then something unexpected happened. The clouds parted—just for 30 minutes—as if Taal itself heard our silent wish. In that brief moment, we saw it. And majestic is the only word that fits.

This was only my second time seeing the volcano in full. The first was back in high school, when I didn’t quite grasp the magic of it. But this time, I stood on the ridge and let myself take it all in.
We kicked off our stay with the Meat Lover’s Boodle at Salu-Salo sa Veranda, a comforting spread perfect for sharing with friends or family. This weekday set menu includes Lechon Kawali, Fried Chicken, Bistek Tagalog, Pork BBQ, Inihaw na Liempo, Kansi, Adobong Kangkong, fruits, steamed rice, and iced tea. It’s hearty, indulgent, and feels like home.

After a short rest in our Ridge Room, we made our way to TĀZA Fresh Table for dinner. From the unforgettable salad to the porterhouse porkchop, steak, and chicken, everything was cooked with intention and full of flavor.

A standout dish? Chef Jaime’s Malunggay Pancit Verde — moringa pesto, tinapa flakes, palabok noodles, and sautéed seafood. It was nostalgic, inventive, and truly Filipino.

Our room offered a beautiful balcony view. Waking up to the view of Taal Lake outside your window? That’s a rare kind of peace. The next morning, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast buffet at Veranda.
After breakfast, we took advantage of our guest perks to explore Sky Ranch right next door—no lines, no entrance fee, just pure fun. With the Ride-All-You-Can Pass, we went on over 16 rides, including the Sky Eye.
To wind down, we booked a foot massage at Rain Spa, a much-needed treat after all that walking. Then, we capped off our stay with a cozy dinner at Veranda with more steak, pasta, and that unforgettable pancit verde once again.
