Creating space for emerging theatre artists to tell their own stories, Casa Kolektib presents The Creators’ Labfest, a festival of original short and sweet plays happening on October 24, 2026, at Likha Village in Biluso, Silang, Cavite.
The festival serves as the culminating event of The Creators’ Laboratory, Casa Kolektib’s five-weekend theatre arts workshop designed to help emerging artists develop their craft through learning, collaboration, and creative exploration.
Founded as a contemporary theatre company, Casa Kolektib creates ensemble-driven performances rooted in memory, identity, community, and lived experience. More than a platform for performance, it envisions theatre as a shared home for stories, a space where artists can experiment, learn, and create together.
The idea took shape when the founders attended Repertory Philippines’ Learning Curve in June 2026. During their training, Sir Ralph Peña shared words that would help inspire their vision: “Go crazy. You are the master of your fate.”
For the founders, these words became an invitation to imagine what was possible for Cavite’s theatre community: a place where artists could take creative risks, tell their own stories, and build something together without waiting for the perfect opportunity to arrive.
That vision became Casa Kolektib, whose name reflects the idea of a house, a third space where theatre artists can find community, hone their craft, and create with greater freedom.
Through The Creators’ Labfest, this vision comes to life in original plays developed by emerging theatre makers. Each work offers audiences a glimpse into distinct perspectives, personal experiences, and imaginative worlds shaped by the artists themselves.
The festival will feature three performance sets daily at 2 PM, 4 PM, and 6 PM, with a different selection of plays in each set. Regular tickets are priced at ₱500 per set, while an all-access ticket for ₱1,350 allows audiences to experience all three sets in a single day.
Through this gathering of stories and artists, Casa Kolektib hopes to strengthen Cavite’s performing arts community and invite more people to take part in its growing theatre scene as creators, collaborators, and audience members.
The Creators’ Labfest runs on October 24, 2026, at Likha Village, Biluso, Silang, Cavite. For event details and ticket inquiries, visit https://www.facebook.com/share/14riPuJaey1/.
