Why Collaborating with When in Manila Is Awesome: Contest Sample with Over 25,000 Entries


WHEN IN MANILA usually joins forces with local establishments and productions in order to share the best home-grown brands, events, and products and, of course, to make our well-deserved readers happy.

Recently, we featured the success story Lil’ Whims, a local shop in Manila that sells instant photography goodies. They were generous and they agreed to reward one lucky When in Manila reader a wonderful bundle of Fujifilm Instax Mini 7S!

And because a lot of people are fond of taking pictures, our special giveaway went viral—a little more than we expected.

During the contest’s course, I received a lot of comments through Facebook and Twitter mentions about how everyone was excited about the giveaway. This one’s kind of big compared to my previous giveaways on When in Manila so I was also pretty excited about it, too!

After running the promo for 10 days on When in Manila, we are very eager to say that we have garnered more than 25,000 entries—whoa! And yup! The feature article gathered 1,100+ likes on Facebook and 760+ shares on Twitter! Sweet!

But of course, the results wouldn’t have been this fruitful without the participation of When in Manila’s thousands (and counting!) of followers on Facebook and Twitter.
