Want to be surrounded by beautiful lotuses? Much like how the sakura (cherry blossoms) in Japan is sought after, the lotus is one of the most recognized and iconic flowers in Chinese culture. Every June, this beautiful flower is celebrated during the Lotus Flower Festival. Similar to our own Panagbenga festival, the city of Macau is adorned with lotuses especially during this time of year!
The Lotus Flower Festival highlights a particular lotus flower species every year, which admirers can see at the Taipa Houses-Museum and in the Suzhou-inspired Lou Lim Ieoc Garden among other places.

3. Macau International Music Festival – October
Enrich your love for music and artistic senses at the Macau International Music Festival. This huge event attracts hundreds of thousands to the city, and with good reason. The festival showcases a brilliant lineup of artists yearly, with renowned musicians coming from all over the world.
Some of the music featured in the festival include opera, orchestral and chamber music, Chinese folk music, jazz, Broadway tunes and a mix of various musical influences worldwide.
