If you grew up watching and loving High School Musical as much as I did (okay, fine… I was already very “grown up” when it came out, but that didn’t make me love it any less), then you must have been as excited as I was to see hear that Vanessa Hudgens would be in Grease Live playing the role of Betty Rizzo.
I’ve always been a fan of musicals and even watched Grease multiple times onstage when they staged it here in Manila a few years back, and Rizzo was always my favorite because I could never relate to Sandy. When I heard that Vanessa Hudgens had snagged the role, I have to admit I had my doubts because she played such a goody-goody in High School Musical. But then the videos of her performance came out and can I just say… WOW. And to think she performed just mere hours after announcing her father had died. (Rest in Peace, Greg Hudgens!)
