The Giant Panda Protection Research Center in Chengdu, China is currently looking for full-time employees who can share “in their joys and sorrows.”
According to the job posting:
Your work has only one mission. Spending 365 days with the pandas and sharing in their joys and sorrows. You need perseverance for this job.
We expect that the applicants will be mainly white-collar workers from big cities. They are used to eating whatever they want, but inside the giant panda base, the choices will not be plentiful.
How much will you get paid per year? $32,000, or roughly P1,376,000. For hugging pandas. All day.
Their qualifications are simple: you must be at least 22 years old, have basic knowledge of the furry creature, and be able to write and take pictures. If you get accepted, you’ll be joining other volunteers from Europe, Japan, and the US.
