The trailer of the controversial movie adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s beloved musical, Cats the Musical, has finally dropped, giving fans a quick look at what to expect.
The movie, which is scheduled to be released on December 2019, features big names in the entertainment industry—namely, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, James Corden, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, and Jason Derulo.
It follows the same story as the original, where a tribe of Jellicle cats comes together to decide who among them will ascend the Heaviside Layer to receive a new Jellicle life. It showcases song and dance performances, often to introduce a specific cat from the tribe.

Leading the project as director is Tom Hooper (Les Miserables, The King’s Speech) with the guidance of Andrew Lloyd Webber himself.
