Disney just unveiled the first look at the highly anticipated sequel to its popular movie franchise, Frozen, during the Disney Entertainment Showcase at the D23 Ultimate Fan Event on Friday, August 14, 2026—and we’re here for the ultimate plot twist.

And no, we’re not referring to the mysterious new character who came down from the northern lights with ice powers similar to Elsa’s; we’re talking about Olaf’s flourishing love life.
At the start of the teaser footage for Frozen 3, Olaf was seen alongside Anna, Kristoff, and Sven arriving at the castle dock following Anna and Kristoff’s wedding. After getting off Sven, the new bride playfully tossed her bouquet and was caught by Olaf.

Catching the bridal flower, Olaf was so delighted that he jokingly mentioned he would marry the next person he met. The creators, however, didn’t show the exact meeting in the teaser clip, but the cast made sure to spill the details on stage.
During the D23 presentation, Idina Menzel (the voice behind Elsa) and Kristen Bell (the actress behind Anna) teasingly mentioned that “love is in the air for everyone”—including Olaf, confirming a romance waiting for the snowman in the third film.

Josh Gad, the voice who brought the beloved snowman to life, then took the stage to give a live musical performance of a brand-new song for Frozen 3 titled “Ooooh, Samantha,” officially revealing the name of Olaf’s partner.
During the performance, a sneak peek showcased scenes of Olaf sharing a sweet hug with his brand-new snowwoman on a heart-themed, purple-lit ice rink.
The name “Samantha” pays off as a subtle bit of foreshadowing from Frozen 2, where Olaf humorously blurted it out after he, Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Sven were separated in the Enchanted Forest.

Wandering alone in the woods, Olaf called out the names of his friends before randomly shouting “Samantha?”—only to burst into laughter after realizing, “Samantha? I don’t even know a Samantha!” Little did the snowman know that someone with that name would soon come into his life and become his significant other.
Frozen 3 is scheduled to hit theaters on November 24, 2027.
