WATCH: Eric Menk retires from PBA, receives fitting tribute

No more Major Pain.

Longtime basketball player Eric Menk has officially retired from the PBA. He blogged about his retirement a few days ago, giving his thanks to the players and people who made his basketball career in the Philippines memorable.

On Sunday, Alaska, the team Menk last played for, gave him a special tribute during the halftime of the Aces’ game against Barangay Ginebra, where Major Pain spent most of his PBA career.

Some of his fellow players and his former coach also honored Menk through posts on social media:

Congrats to my guy @emenk30 on a 16 yr Hall of Fame career. You helped raised the bar for all of us who came after you in the PBA. The relentless will to win and the tireless work ethic was something I always admired and respected, and it only pushed me to try and follow that same path. Thank you for taking a young, naive kid like myself back in 2002 under your wing and helping me to understand what being a pro athlete was all about. Til this day, I don't think I would've made it past that first year without all your encouragement, advice, and guidance (not to mention all the meals you paid for.) The rest of my career may have never happened, so THANK YOU! Enjoyed our battles on the court, but enjoyed them much better when we were on the same side… ????????????Cheers to an incredible career, and the start of a new one!!! #Respect #Legend #MVPs #PBAs40Greatest #MajorPain #StayingMajor
