WATCH: Ed Sheeran Covers Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” (Which He Actually Co-Wrote)

Eddie’s baaaack!

Ed Sheeran has been pretty much quiet this entire 2016, except for his track Thinking Out Loud heard everywhere, which really isn’t his fault. The British singer-songwriter’s last album was released more than two years ago, on July 2014.

In a rare recent performance though (how rare you’ll find out in a bit), the Grammy award winning artist performed a couple of his hit songs in a 45 minute acoustic set for a charity gala for the East Anglian Children’s Hospice. He’s been an ambassador for the said charity since 2014.

Ed told the crowd, “This is the first time I’ve done a show in a year, so please bear with me…It’s nice to be back.”

He also performed, for the first time (and probably the last), a cover of Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself. Ed Sheeran actually co-wrote the song, and said at the show: “I’ll probably never play it again, but I just want to play it once.
