Blackpink’s Rosé is having a moment. She just launched the music video of her solo debut “On the Ground,” which is part of her solo album R.
Watch it below:
In YouTube’s Released, Rosé said, “Basically the song is kind of about looking for answers in life, for a purpose in life, and I feel like people, especially these days, can relate to it. Sometimes when you’re always kind of on that roll, you kind of forget to take care of what actually matters to you most, and it’s just a song that says that everything we need is already within us. There’s no need to go out and look for it.”
In just 22 hours, the music video has been watched more than 37 million times. It is #1 on YouTube’s trending, as of posting.
Not only that, “On the Ground” reached the top of several music charts in Korea. It has also reached No. 1 on iTunes charts in countries around the world.
Soompi also reports that R broke the record for the “highest number of stock pre-orders achieved by any female soloist in Korea.”
Rosé will be performing “On the Ground” for the first time on the Korean music program Inkigayo on March 14. This will be followed by a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 16.
