The Dragonpit Meeting scene in Game of Thrones’ season seven finale episode is one of the show’s most important scenes ever since it first aired almost eight years ago. Why?
With the show’s many plot lines, the Dragonpit Meeting is the first time many of the characters are coming face-to-face. And for half of them, meeting again after a long withstanding rift (e.g. Tyion and Cersei, the Hound and the Mountain, Theon and Euron). It was a much anticipated scene that everyone long hoped would someday come. And this season, as the show begins to wrap up for its final run, it finally did.
And it wasn’t any less exciting for the actors as well. They were used to being in the same scenes with the few same actors, but for ten days as they were filming this sequence, there were a bunch of them—and the show’s lead characters nonetheless—it was like a class reunion.
The breaking down of the directional aspect of the show is as admirable, too, as always. This behind the scene featurette takes us deeper into the grand meeting, and fans will surely love it. (I did.)
