The Office of the Vice President has announced plans to open even more free dormitory facilities for those at the frontlines of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Two of these will be located in Metro Manila while dormitories in some provinces have already been set up.
These will be the fifth and sixth free dorms that the OVP has set up for doctors, nurses, and other frontliners in Metro Manila.

“Bilang tugon sa patuloy na pangangailangan ng ating mga frontliners, nagtutulungan ang OVP at mga #AngatBuhay partners nito para makapagbukas ng ilan pang dormitories para sa kanila—hindi lamang sa Metro Manila kundi sa iba pang bahagi ng bansa,” VP Leni’s Facebook post reads.
The dormitory is open to health workers, medical practitioners, and others such as security guards and those servicing the frontline.
The fifth dormitory will be located in Diliman, Quezon City near the East Avenue Medical Center, the Lung Center of the Philippines, the Philippine Heart Center, and the National Kidney and Transplant Institute.
Meanwhile, the sixth dormitory will be located in Maybunga, Pasig City. It is near the Pasig General Hospital and Tricity Medical Center. This was achieved with the help of St. Paul College Pasig Batch ’96.
Aside from this, the OVP is also housing frontliners in Legazpi City, Albay, Mariveles, Bataan, and Tacloban City, Leyte in partnership with The Oriental Hotels and Resorts. They have also partnered with the University of the Cordilleras to house frontliners in Baguio City.
