Our country’s history is rich, rife with struggles, but also filled with stories of true bravery and heroism. Today’s holiday, National Heroes Day, recognizes that. Sometimes, however, history is not quite how we imagined it.

To me they are greater heroes for these. Afterall, they are just as human as you and I, yet they accomplish so much for the country. They are an inspiration for us to emulate. We can be heroes too, even if only in small way, just by being good citizens.
