Vilca Art and Designs Studio: Art Workshops For Kids and Kids at Heart
Vilca Art and Design,an art studio run by a group of young artists that offers diverse services such as art workshop, one-on-one art tutorials, graphic design solutions, photo and video services, and party services launches its summer art workshop for kids and adults for the month of March to May 2014. Their workshop programs include drawing, cartooning, arts and crafts, painting, photography, video editing and theatre with a goal to create a good learning environment which motivate and inspire students, while providing them with lessons and techniques they need to establish a firm foundation for lifelong learning
Currently, the art group is composed of young artists, art enthusiasts, and student artists who believe that art should not be always confined within the four corners of a classroom. Therefore the idea of outdoor and home tutorials have been the staple course in the art program, where they teach and share art by shifting away from the academic style of teaching art theory and production.
It is founded in 2010 by Bicolano multi-awarded artist Geri Matthew Carretero and Manila-based artist Ervie Villanueva, daughter of artist Nestor Villanueva. Ervie is also the niece of artists Romulo Galicano and Sofronio Mendoza. Both founders earned their BA Art Studies degree from the University of the Philippines – Diliman in 2009
