Victoria Court wins the 2014 Philippine Culinary Cup
August 6-9, 2014 at the SMX Convention Center – the Philippine Culinary Cup hosts a challenge for all the top chefs and kitchens in the country. Victoria Court together with its hotel chain Best Western Hotel La Corona Manila took that challenge. Our F&B Department pushed their limits and fought to show the country that not only are we known for our thematic rooms but that we can compete in the same arena with first class hotels and restaurants.
Prestigious Gold champions under the Filipino Cuisine category were Antonio Ronquillo, Angelo Cortez from our Central Kitchen and Rudy Valenzuela from Victoria Court Cuneta. Under the U.S. Pork Category, our very own Richard Albios, from our VC Malate F&B Department, took home the Bronze Medal. Ramon Manguiat from Best Western Hotel La Corona Manila and Norlan Cruz from Victoria Court Panorama won the bronze medals under the Pasta Category. Nick Santos from Victoria Court Balintawak was awarded the Bronze for quick fire salads and Marc Sarmiento (Victoria Court Panorama) & John Montessa (Victoria Court San Fernando) bagged Bronze medals for the Young Chefs team Challenge.
Our culinary geniuses beat Five-star hotels such as Resorts World Manila, Raffles & Fairmont Makati, Marriot Hotel Manila and many more. This only goes to show that Victoria Court can compete and win in the same arena as these high-end hotels. With this great achievement by our F&B Department comes great responsibility. The challenge now for Victoria Court is to win the hearts and taste of our guests every time they stay in our branches.
