This coming May, UST Pax Romana is set to host a meaningful fundraising event titled “HILOM, TULONG at TAWA: A Fundraising Improv Show with SPIT Manila.” The event is in collaboration with the local units of Pax Romana, the UST Office for Student Affairs, UST Simbahayan, and the Faculty of Arts and Letters. The benefit show will take place on May 9, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Auditorium of the St. Pier Giorgio Frassati Building on the University of Santo Tomas campus.

Laughter as a Form of Healing
The event aims to blend entertainment and advocacy to support the brave children of Bahay Aruga, a free halfway house located in Paco, Manila, for pediatric cancer patients. To bring joy and healing through laughter, the organizers have invited SPIT Manila, Asia’s premier improv theater group, as the main performer. Known for their quick wit and comedic brilliance, SPIT will lead an evening dedicated to “hope against hope.”
More than just an entertainment showcase, HILOM, TULONG at TAWA serves as a critical platform for social responsibility. The initiative will be divided into two impactful phases: (1) the fundraising event featuring SPIT Manila, and (2) the renovation and turnover of proceeds to Bahay Aruga.
While the main event occurs on May 9, the organizers have announced that they are still accepting monetary or in-kind donations until May 9, 2026. All proceeds from the show will be dedicated to providing essential materials for Bahay Aruga, including medications, bedding, and daily necessities, to improve comfort and care for its residents.
