Having a hard time in quarantine? UST now has free mental health counseling

With the COVID-19 pandemic changing life as we know it and creating a ‘new normal’, it’s only expected for people to be feeling heightened levels of worry or helplessness. If this is true for you, don’t be afraid to reach out to your friends and family or even mental health professionals.

The Thomasian Mental Health Responders (MHR) of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Department of Psychology recently opened its free mental health services to anybody in need of support.

Anyone in need of counseling may sign up through this link or contact them via text message or Viber at +639171521817.

Priority will be given to frontliners, those in quarantine and experiencing anxiety, PUMs/PUIs/COVID-19 patients, those in mourning or disturbed by these circumstances, and those with preexisting conditions who are unable to see their psychologist or psychiatrist.

The Thomasian Mental Health Responders are composed of volunteers who are licensed psychologists, licensed guidance counselors, medical doctors, psychology graduate students, and allied health professionals trained in providing psychological first aid.
