Under Armour Philippines – Who Will Protect this House? #IWill

“Who will protect this house?”

This question has become a mantra of sorts for Under Armour fans worldwide, and its Philippine launch showed Filipino athletes (both casual and elite) why it was so. Under Armour Philippines set up a challenging obstacle course smack in the middle of the city’s premier high-end shopping area, Bonifacio High Street, and invited those around to compete against each other in a head-to-head race. Both weekend warriors and elite athletes alike were tested hard, Under Armour style, from raw speed to balance and strength. Winners received premium Under Armour items.

An active member of fitness events, I participated in the Under Armour obstacle course. Divided into six sections, it was a good challenge for both beginners and athletes (though the competitive athletes were posting ridiculous times). It starts out with a sprint (while dragging a cement block), followed immediately by monkey-bars.

It was a quick dive down to finish a crawl – most participants at this point were bruised or bloody, but that’s what makes us athletes warriors, right?

The fourth station was an easy Farmer’s Walk (50lbs total). The most difficult station in my opinion was the Wall Climb, and it didn’t help that the grips were few and far in-between! The final stretch was a rappel down the wall, possibly the most fun thing for most of the athletes participating.

Casual observers of the outdoor event were treated to a performance by a high-flying university cheering squad, and main event hosts Gretchen Ho and Robi Domingo.
