‘Train to Busan’ Actor Ma Dong-Seok to Star in Marvel’s ‘The Eternals’

The Eternals has been something Marvel fans have been discussing for a while now. Months ago, Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden’s names were rumored to be attached to the project. At the Marvel panel at the San Diego Comic-Con which was held on July 20, the rest of the Eternals cast were announced and one of them had a familiar face.

Ma Dong-Seok, also known as Don Lee, is going to be playing the Eternals’ Gilgamesh for the brand new superhero movie. If you think he looks familiar, it’s most likely because you’ve watched the blockbuster Korean film Train to Busan. In the 2016 film, the actor played Sang-Hwa, one of the lead characters who ended up being a crowd favorite.

In The Eternals, he’ll be playing Gilgamesh, an enhanced human with superstrength. According to the comic books, he’s supposed to have similar if not greater strength than that of heroes like Thor or Hercules.

Ma will be joining Angelina Jolie (Thena), Salma Hayek (Ajak), Richard Madden (Ikaris), Bryan Tyree Henry (Phastos), Kumail Nanjiani (Kingo), and Lauren Ridloff (Makkari) as the titular Eternals.

When asked whether Gilgamesh or the Hulk would win a fight, the actor assured everyone that he would win (of course). We’re definitely excited to see that happen if it ever does. The Eternals is set to be released on November 2020.
