Tra Vinh: Enjoy Authentic Vietnamese Food in San Juan City

Want to go on an international food trip? If you’re not looking for Japanese or Korean dishes, we’d highly recommend you enjoy a Vietnamese feast for fresh and flavorful dishes.

Tra Vinh in San Juan City is known for serving authentic Vietnamese dishes. They’ve got a massive menu featuring all kinds of Vietnamese food—from the classic pho to savory rice meals.

When I checked out Tra Vinh, it was also my first time visiting a Vietnamese restaurant, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. But after our meal, I can say that it was such a delightful surprise and a great food experience.

Here are some of the dishes we tried at Tra Vinh:

For appetizers, you have to try the Banh Xeo or Vietnamese Pancake especially if you love fresh greens. This dish features a stuffed rice crepe or pancake served with fresh veggies and herbs.

Another ala carte dish I absolutely loved was the Grilled Lemon Chicken which was such a flavorful option and is great to enjoy on its own.

If you can’t go a meal without rice, we highly recommend that you try the Grilled Pork Chop Rice. It’s marinated in such a delicious homemade sauce that each bite bursts with flavor. It instantly became one of my favorite dishes at Tra Vinh.

And while Tra Vinh may be known for serving authentic Vietnamese dishes, they also offer their very own Oyster Sisig. Now, you don’t have to travel all the way to Boracay just to enjoy delectable Oyster Sisig—it’s already available right in the heart of San Juan City!

Noodles, noodles, and more noodles

Of course, we couldn’t visit a Vietnamese restaurant without trying the noodle dishes they have to offer. Even their menu shows a wide array of both pho noodles and dry noodles that you can enjoy at Tra Vinh (a total of 22 noodle dishes!)

For the pho noodles, I particularly loved the Combination Beef Noodle. This savory noodle dish is made with real beef broth that’s prepared with 16 traditional herbs and spices, topped with tender beef shoulder slices and raw slices of New Zealand rib eye, beef balls, and beef tripe!

This is a must-try, especially for meat lovers like me.

For the dry noodles, we got to try the overloaded BBQ Pork Noodle with Spring Rolls. This features rice vermicelli topped with deliciously marinated barbeque pork bites and fried vegetable spring rolls. It’s also served with Tra Vinh’s flavorful special dressing which makes this dish even more appetizing.

It’s perfect how Tra Vinh offers some kind of noodle dish that’s perfect for any season, any day of the week, and any hour of the day!

Refreshments and sweet treats

I also couldn’t talk about the iconic drinks served at Tra Vinh. Of course, Vietnamese Coffee is right at the top of the list. You can choose whether to have it hot, iced, or even iced blended. And I have to say that their Vietnamese iced coffee is one of my favorites.

Another drink I loved at Tra Vinh was their Grape Smoothie. It was a perfect blend of sweet, tangy, and extra fruity, and is definitely a refreshing choice of drink.

You can also enjoy a few of Tra Vinh’s signature desserts such as the Iced Chendol—said to be Tra Vinh’s version of the classic halo-halo. It’s a Malaysian dessert that includes shaved ice, jelly, pandan, palm sugar, and coconut milk. It’s the perfect refreshing dessert to end a fresh, flavorful, and filling feast of Vietnamese cuisine.

Your next food trip destination

If you’re already planning for your food trips this coming weekend, Tra Vinh should definitely be at the top of your list if you’re looking for something different and you also want to be sure that it’s good and worth your every peso.

With their massive menu, wide (and I mean wide) variety of delectable Vietnamese dishes, and casual dining set-up that will make you truly enjoy your flavorful meal, definitely check out Tra Vinh in San Juan City!
