It seems like Darna is everyone’s favorite topic nowadays. Ever since Liza Soberano had to back out of the role due to a finger injury, studio and public alike have been on the hunt for the next Darna. Everyone has their own opinion on who is the best pick for the iconic character, spanning what feels like literally every eligible Filipina actress. But it’s about time we start hearing what these actresses themselves think about taking up the mantle.
Pia Wurtzbach, one of the fan favorites for Darna, has confessed that she would love to be given the chance to play Darna. In an interview with ABS-CBN she shared:
I’m very flattered that they think I can play the role of Darna. It’s an iconic role, it’s a very sought-after role, it’s the role of a lifetime.

She also said she would be ready to work for and give her all to the role:
Kung papalarin na ibibigay sa akin ‘yung role na Darna, tatanggapin ko [If I happen to be given the role of Darna, I will accept it]. I will work hard, I will train, I will attend workshops. Ibibigay ko lahat ng lakas ko [I will give all my strength]. But, of course, it’s ABS-CBN’s decision in the end to see who is the perfect fit to play the role.

When asked if she would be willing to go through auditions, she responded positively:
Yeah, of course! If I find out that they’re open to have me audition, then I’m going to try. Why not? . . . It’s everybody’s dream. It’s a dream role for me to play a superhero. If it happens, it happens. If not, then that’s also fine

Of course, while no official announcements have been made this is all just speculation.
