This is how Pasig plans to help public school students when classes resume

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto has unveiled Pasig City’s plans regarding the resumption of classes. This is in response to President Duterte’s statement where he said, “It’s useless talking about opening of classes. Para sa akin, bakuna muna (For me, the vaccine should come first).”

On Facebook, the Mayor said, “Ano man ang mangyari, hindi natin puwedeng hayaan na mahuli ang mga magaaral natin sa mga pampublikong paaralan (Whatever happens, we should not let public school students get left behind).”

If ever classes resume virtually in the upcoming school year, Sotto said that they are preparing better internet connections at the barangay level so students can download the modules that will be provided.

The Mayor also said that whether or not virtual classes will be happening, “we are identifying funds for personal learning devices for students.” Sotto also said that the Pasig City government is working with the Department of Education to talk about how they can assist students in the upcoming school year.
