More and more Filipinos are discovering foreign exchange trading (or forex trading) and seizing the opportunity to learn how to do it in the hopes of earning additional income to help them achieve their dreams.
It’s no question that forex trading is now one of the most popular ways to earn more money on the side for the following reasons: it’s the most liquid market, it’s something that anyone can do on their own time and in the comfort of their own home, and only requires capital of as little as PHP 5,000 yet guarantees several opportunities to make profits.
It doesn’t take a lot to start trading forex as long as you get the best education from a trusted trading coach like Coach Ferdie Pabalan of Born2Win Philippines. Here are just some students who were fortunate enough to learn forex trading under his guidance and were able to attain financial success:
Jolly Ann Israel, 39, sari-sari store owner
Jolly Ann, who was a former overseas Filipino worker before being laid off during the pandemic, discovered forex trading back in August 2022 when she was seeking opportunities to earn additional income online. She had come across an article on WhenInManila.com featuring fellow Filipinos who had made profits of up to 6 digits in one day through forex trading and decided to try it out for herself in the hopes of becoming just like them.

“Di ako nakakapag-invest sa sarili ko. Pero noong natutunan ko ‘tong forex trading, parang feeling ko eto yung kulang sa buhay ko,” she shared with WhenInManila. “Naging successful nga naman [yung investment], although maliit pa. Ang mahalaga don ay umangat yung income ko.”
But even though Jolly Ann tends to play it safe with her investment, she still was able to earn as much as USD150 (~PHP 8,300) in one day.
She owed it to the effective and comprehensible teaching style of Coach Ferdie Pabalan of Born2Win Philippines that she was truly driven to learn how to trade.
“Sobrang pinapadali niya yung buhay. Kay coach sobrang mababaw na mga meaning yung ginagamit niya para mas maintindihan mo. So mas na-e-encourage kang mag-aral. Talagang dinadaan niya sa experience niya so halos lahat nakakarelate,” she said.
Her advice to those who are hesitant about forex trading is to be more open to taking the risk in learning something new and to work hard to ensure your success.
“‘Wag [kayong] matakot na mag-try ng bago. Since nangyari ‘tong pandemic, maraming taong ayaw nang sumubok ng bago, lalo na etong forex, iisipin mo na about money yan ‘eh. Dahil nga nagpe-play safe tayo dahil sa pera, yung iba, ayaw na nilang i-try. I-try mo siya kasi makakatulong siya talaga sayo,” she shared.
“Syempre pag-aaralan mo. So kailangan mo lang talagang i-encourage yung sarili mong matututo,” she continued. “Kung hindi mo siya seseryosohin, oo mahihirapan ka. […] So [yung forex trading ay] para sa mga gusto talagang matuto. Wala naman din nagiging doktor ng isang taon diba? So pag-aaralan mo talaga.”
Charlemagne Salian, 40, government employee
Charlemagne Salian already heard about forex trading prior to the pandemic and enrolled in a program that he eventually realized was much too complicated and confusing to understand as a beginner and ended up losing money on his investments. Years later, when he met Coach Ferdie Pabalan, he decided to give forex trading another try—and he finally started getting profits from his trades.
“Dun ko lang talaga naintindihan yung forex trading, as in parang bagong estudyante lang ako,” he told WhenInManila. “Yung strat kasi ni Coach ay kahit mahirap, kaya niyang paintindi sa bata. Sa kanya ko natutunan lahat. Hindi ka matatakot eh magbigay ng question, tutulungan ka talaga niya sa simula hanggang sa huli.”
He liked the fact that you aren’t obligated to trade everyday, you just do it in your own time at your own pace. And through his earnings from forex trading, he is now able to buy the things he wants. In fact, in just one day, Charlemagne has earned as much as USD620 (~PHP 34,300).
“Instant money, parang free money kumbaga,” he said. “So kung may mga goals ka sa buhay, may gusto kang gamit o may gusto kang pag-ipunan na makuha, makukuha mo talaga dito.”
His advice for those interested in learning forex trading is: “Try niyo forex trading kasi eto talaga yung nakita ko sa mga pinasukan [kong second source of income] na madali eh, madali siyang kumita. Basta sundin niyo lang yung strategies, sundin niyo lang yung turo ni coach. Pramis, kikita kayo.”
Mohammad Salian, former OFW
Mohammad Salian heard of forex trading many years ago but was convinced to try it out for himself with the encouragement of his brother Charlemagne. When he flew back to the Philippines last June 2022 for vacation, he grabbed the opportunity to join the August batch of students in Coach Ferdie’s forex trading program with Born2Win Philippines.
“It really was life-changing because I couldn’t believe that I will be able to profit very fast and just in the matter of weeks, I was able to get back the tuition and earn some from this trading,” he shared with WhenInManila.

Richard Barcelona, 40, seafarer
Richard Barcelona initially discovered forex trading in 2021 and although he has been trading for a while since then, he felt that he still wasn’t confident enough to invest as much as he could. In 2022, however, he met Coach Ferdie Pabalan through his friends and decided to take his forex trading course.
“Sa ngayon po, nagkaroon ako ng confidence sa trade positions ko, and nagkaroon ako ng ladderized learning, detailed learning sa technical analysis and how to control your emotions,” he shared.

It’s only been a couple of months since he started trading after his forex education with Coach Ferdie and already he has attained considerable financial success with his investment. He started trading in January 2023 with a capital of USD2,000 (~PHP 110,500); in just two weeks, he earned a 150% profit of USD3,000 (~PHP 165,800). And in the last month, the highest that he earned was USD800 (~PHP 44,200) in one day.
His story is proof to all who are hesitant and skeptical about forex trading that it really is a great source of additional income.
“Forex trading is not a scam. Kasi marami na pong kumikita, matagal na po siyang nag-eexist. Aside from our regular job, mas okay na magkaroon tayo ng side-hustle like forex trading kasi nga po from your home, anytime, pwede mo po siyang gawin. Pero dapat na marunong ka na dapat sa technical analysis at nagkaroon ka na ng proper education about forex,” Richard stressed.
Andrei Ceriales, 32, freelancer and business owner
Back in 2020, Andrei and his fiancé looked for other sources of income to help with their expenses at home. They tried different types of investment but these didn’t work out for them the way that they had hoped. Eventually, they came across forex trading in 2022 and joined the free webinar of Born2Win Philippines where they decided to push through with the program.

Andrei shared that forex trading not only improved his finances but also improved his relationship with his fiancé as well as opened more doors to business opportunities for them.
He highly encourages Filipinos to try forex trading as it really does change one’s life, and he regrets not having discovered it sooner.
“I highly suggest you try looking into it. It’s a very nice source of income. I know a few people na eto talaga yung main source of income nila or ginawa na nilang full-time job. [It’s] very profitable as long as you’re able to learn everything. It’s discipline kasi. Sobrang laking factor ng discipline and yung psychology niya. As Coach Ferdie says, 90% yung psychology and 10% yung analytics. So for me, it’s nice if you’ll be able to explore this.”
He added, “Medyo nagsisi din ako na late ko siya na-figure out but I’m just making the most out of it. Sana mas marami pang mag-enroll, ma-encourage yung iba sa forex trading kasi for me I could say life-changing siya.”
John Paul Bugna, 41, real estate agent
Prior to forex, John Paul Bugna already had a background in other investing opportunities but decided to give forex trading a try upon discovering Born2Win Philippines on social media.
