This decade belongs with Taylor Swift, because the singer has been declared Artist of the Decade by the American Music Awards.
According to Marco Bacco, executive vice president for programming and development for Dick Clark Productions, “Taylor’s impact on music this decade is undeniable and her performances on the American Music Awards have been truly spectacular. We’re thrilled to honor her as our artist of the decade and can’t wait for her to blow everyone away with an epic, career-spanning performance unlike any other!”
Taylor is a deserving pick when you consider her history at the AMAs. She has earned the most awards of any female artist in history with 23 wins, and has won the most awards this decade. She has also been named Artist of the Year four times.
This year, Taylor is nominated five times, for Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist, Favorite Music Video for “You Need to Calm Down,” and Favorite Pop/Rock Album for Lover.
During the ceremony, she is set to deliver a performance to celebrate her biggest hits from the last 13 years.
This year’s AMAs will be held on November 24 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
