Taylor Swift’s Music Video For “ME!” Already Broke a YouTube Record

Taylor Swift Me

If you got LSS listening to Taylor Swift’s new song “ME!” and watching its music video, you definitely helped in this: the video is now the highest female and solo 24-hour debut for any music video, according to YouTube.

Watch the video below:

The streaming platform revealed that it garnered 65.2 million views within its first 24 hours on its April 26 release. Swift beat the previous record-holder Ariana Grande, whose video for “Thank U, Next” received 55 million views on its first day in 2018.

“ME!” has received good reviews from critics, with Rolling Stone calling it “campy,” “bubbly,” and “a totally canonical Taylor Lead Single.” Meanwhile, Billboard said that it “is similarly shiny, and the tongue-in-cheek self-assessment of ‘Blank Space’ shows up in the verses, but it’s also much more broad, way more cheerful and delivered without an ounce of sarcasm or snark.”

“ME!” is expected to appear on the singer’s seventh studio album following Reputation‘s release in 2017. There’s still no word what this album will be called, but Swift herself mentioned that she has dropped clues on its name in the music video.
