It’s A Summer Happy Camp!
Proving Doughnut’s versatility and functionality, explorers including Jelito de Leon, Kevin Ty, Mercedes Litton, Roselle Vytiaco, and Shainna Gayle de Castro were transported to Viewscape Nature Park in Tanay, Rizal, one of Manila’s premier camping sites with breathtaking mountain and sky views.Â
Lead adventurer and certified mountaineer, Coach Emmanuel Batungbacal fueled the participants’ drive for exploration by sharing camping tips and tricks, packing essentials, basic first aid as well as setting up tents and starting small campfires. Each participant was provided with camping gear from Chris Sports, insulated tumblers from Stanley, playing cards from Bicycle Cards, and Victorinox Swiss Army Knives.
In an exciting evening activity, explorers were treated to an illuminating stargazing experience led by volunteers from the Manila Street Astronomers, a non-profit astronomy outreach group advocating astronomy education, collaboration, and communication for everyone. In collaboration with Doughnut Philippines, the goal was to provide close-up views of Jupiter with its Galilean moons and other deep sky objects using the Omni XLT 150 telescope from Celestron. Basic astronomical concepts were also discussed for information and awareness, clarifying common misconceptions. Identification of constellations was facilitated with the use of laser pointers and star mapping apps.
The group reveled in an unplugged and joyful experience, indulging in outdoor activities such as watching the sunrise and sunset, and waking up to a crisp morning in a sea of clouds. Everyone was well-prepared, effortlessly accessing everything they needed in their new travel must-have – Doughnut.
