Beloved Japanese animation company Studio Ghibli has just put its entire collection of films online and available for fans to download.
According to an official press release by US Distributor GKids which will house the whole catalog, all the films, including renowned classics “Spirited Away,” “Howl’s Moving Castle,” “Princess Mononoke,” “My Neighbor Totoro,” and “The Cat Returns,” will be up for purchase in both English and Japanese languages on all major transactional platforms.
This will be the first time that Studio Ghibli will make its films available for digital download. Sad to say, but they will only be available to markets in the United States and in Canada. We’ll just have to keep hoping that streaming services available to us in the Philippines will find a way to bring these amazing moves to us too!
Each film will be priced at USD 19.99 (approximately PHP 1,017) while a special bundle consisting of the popular titles will go for USD 99.99 (approximately PHP 5,080).
Apart from GKids, HBO Max has also announced previously that it has acquired streaming rights in the United States for the Studio Ghibli films starting May 2020.
