The Sticky Oats: A Healthy Go-To Snack for the Family

If you’re looking for a delicious snack that is healthy at the same time, you need to check out The Sticky Oats.

Em Tupaz, the owner, shares that she discovered the recipe when her husband insisted for her to chill his cooked oatmeal. While she thought it was weird at first, she submitted to his plea. It eventually became their family’s go-to snack!

While serving the snack, Em then thought of twisting the texture from thick to sticky. The crunchy and poppy texture was added because she likes to add chia seeds to almost every dish that she prepares. “And it added another twist to The Sticky Oats,” she says excitedly. The toppings include coco milk and coco sugar, which has sealed their recipe for their classic and original Sticky Oats.

This snack is perfect for those who love kakanin and Thai sticky rice. It’s very close to biko and it’s extremely delicious – tried and tested! In fact, my family and I have been having it for breakfast. It can easily feed 2-3 people, depending on how hungry you are.

You know how some people like their champorado warm and some like it cold? You can eat The Sticky Oats cold or warm, too. Just slice up a portion, serve it chilled or warm, sprinkle on some coco sugar (which they provide separately with the snack, so you can control the sweetness level), and savor the treat. Posting a photo on social media is optional. :p

It being healthy is just another plus! Since I’ve been trying to eat healthier lately, I’ve really been racking my brain to find sweet and delicious non-guilty snacks to munch on. The Sticky Oats turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. It may be healthy with heaps of fiber, but trust me when I say that it is also hella addicting! You might even be able to finish a whole container on your own.

Created during the COVID-19 pandemic – a time when Em noticed that people were looking for easier ways to stay healthy – Em opened her doors and tried to reach neighboring communities. “We’re amazed at the reception of people,” she shares. “By word of mouth and recommendations, we were able to reach more homes.”

Em currently stays in Nuvali, so they had to suspend some of their Manila deals. While working on an internal channel to deliver the treats for an end-to-end service, though, they can help arrange deliveries for the time being. You can also collect your orders from two pickup points (for Manila and Sta Rosa deals).

The Sticky Oats is also kid-approved. A lot of parents order this treat and have already made it a staple for their families. One client even requested for three layers of The Sticky Oats for her daughter’s birthday! How awesome is that?

The Sticky Oats has also shared that they are currently curating new flavors, so there are more options for everybody to enjoy. I personally can’t wait to see what they’ll be coming up with!
