Star Wars: The Wars Awakens has beaten Jurassic World for becoming the fastest film to hit $1 billion at the box office. According to The Walt Co., Star Wrs: The Force Awakens has reached this milestone in just 12 days, beating Universal’s Jurassic World, which reached $1 billion in 13 days.
Apparently, Jurassic World had the benefit of record grosses in China to reach the milestone. Star Wars: The Force Awakens doesn’t open there until January 9, which makes reaching this milestone more amazing.
