Here’s How To Try The New Star Wars-themed Dark Mode On Facebook Messenger

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be out in theaters very soon and the hype is real. In addition to the usual marketing ploys like trailers and posters, we are starting to see a Star Wars social media takeover. The latest to join the boat is Facebook Messenger.

Facebook recently rolled out its newest theme for the messenger app, and it is exactly what geeky dreams are made of. You get the black aesthetic of the classic dark mode combined with elements inspired by the space-fantasy movie. The theme comes with a star-scattered wallpaper that mimics outer space, a Star Wars sticker pack, a set of Star Wars emojis, and augmented reality filters for video calls and selfies.

To enable the theme first make sure that your app is updated.  After, simply go to the chat where you want the theme to be applied and tap on its name at the top of the screen. You’ll see the ‘Theme’ option towards the top of the page and ‘Star Wars’ should be the first option available.

If there is no Star Wars design it is because the theme is still currently being rolled out worldwide. This means you may have to wait a little while before it is available for you.

According to Facebook, the theme is “limited edition” which implies that it will only be available for a limited amount of time. However, there are no details on exactly how long we will be able to use the theme so best to make the most of out it while you can!
