Square Enix is Making an Avengers Video Game

In case any of you didn’t know or forgot, Marvel teamed up with Square Enix to produce an Avengers video game, extending the hype over the greatest film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

They announced the collaboration back in January 2017 and promised multi-title releases in the coming years, the first of which they revealed to be The Avengers Project. More than two years and only one teaser later, no further update has been given to the public and was left almost completely forgotten.

That is until they posted a job listing for the position of Narrative Director, who “will be tasked with the direction of the game’s cinematic and gameplay experiences.” One of the tasks expected of this Narrative Director is to create “memorable, emotional, and cinematic experiences” — the very thing that makes the Avengers films so well-loved.

One of the requirements listed for the position also includes an “ambition to create a Game of the Year title” — seemingly a tall order, but not far from happening if they will be able to match the hype and grandeur of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, releasing these updates right after the premiere of Avengers: Endgame only means that the game directors are confident in what they might create.

However, this also means that the game isn’t going to drop anytime soon and will most likely be made for upcoming consoles like the PlayStation 5 and the next Xbox.

Still, we’ll be waiting. After all, it’s Avengers — how can anyone not look forward to that?
