In her statement, she expressed gratitude for the support she has received and said she is taking responsibility for those she may have hurt or disappointed.

“I’m deeply grateful for the support many of you have shown. Bago lang po lahat ‘to sa akin. Kaya pasensya na po sa lahat ng na-disappoint at nasaktan ko (This is all new to me, that’s why I am apologizing for those I have disappointed or hurt),” she wrote.

“I understand that what I said in the past caused hurt to some and I take responsibility for it,” she added.

An old video of the rising star expressing sympathy over the former president’s arrest in March has resurfaced, amid ongoing calls for government officials to be held accountable for corruption.

Following the resurfaced video, fans and followers questioned her political stance. Despite the controversy, the actress stressed that she remains committed to standing up for what is right, especially amid the widespread problem of corruption.

“Sa totoo lang po, iniiwasan ko po talaga ang magsalita tungkol sa politics dahil nakapa-divisive nito. Ang mas mahalaga sa akin ngayon ay ang mahalin ang bayan at manindigan laban sa sumsiira nito tulad ng korapsyon. LALO NA PO NGAYON (To be honest, I really try to avoid speaking about politics because it’s such a divisive topic. What matters more to me right now is to love our country and take a stand against the things that harm it, like corruption—especially now),” she shared.

The PBB alum assured fans and followers that she has learned from her actions and she will stand with the Filipino people.

“Huwag po kayong mag-alala, natuto na po ako. Lalawakan ko pa po ang pag-iisip ko para sa ating lahat (Please don’t worry, I’ve learned from this experience. I will continue to broaden my perspective for the good of everyone). I will continue to learn and grow,” she said.

“Mahal ko po kayo at mahal ko ang Pilipinas lalo na sa panahon ngayon (I love you all, and I love the Philippines, especially in these trying times). I stand for and with the Filipino people—always,” she concluded her statement.
