Amidst a sea of complaints and complications, the organizers of the 30th Southeast Asian Games have rushed to guarantee that the early hurdles they faced have now been seen to.
Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) Chief Operating Officer Ramon Suzara confidently stated: “Handa tayo (We are ready). There are just little things before the opening ceremony, but we have resolved that.”

Suzara added that they expect another 4,000 participants to arrive within the week, ahead of the official opening of the games on November 30. In preparation for this, the organizers have met to iron out earlier issues such as media accreditation, food, logistics, infrastructure, and volunteer assignments.
Meanwhile, Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham Tolentino has explained that ‘glitches’ like this are expected. Since the SEA Games are now hosting 56 sports, 26 more than the usual amount, that would inevitably pose some problems. Yet he assured that the organizers have moved past that now.
Tolentino declared that all venues for the games are now ready with media accreditation issues having been addressed already. The organizers also promised on a Facebook post that volunteer deployment issues have been worked out.
