If you watched the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters, chances are you remember Saja Boys—the fictional idol group that made the soundtrack surprisingly catchy. Well, they’re no longer just animated characters. The real vocal team behind the group is now stepping into official music activities outside the film.

The Korea Times reports that, according to the Federation of Korean Music Performers (FKMP), all five artists who lent their voices to Saja Boys have recently joined the organization as official members. This lineup includes newly registered performers Danny Chung and samUIL Lee, who join Andrew Choi, Neckwav, and Kevin Woo—names that K-pop fans might already recognize.
Andrew Choi, for example, placed third on K-pop Star Season 2 and has since worked on music for big groups like SHINee, EXO, and NCT. Kevin Woo, known from his days with U-KISS, has been active in solo projects, musicals, and other performances. The members’ backgrounds span producing, vocal work, and songwriting—so their move into real-world group activities isn’t coming out of nowhere.
What makes their FKMP membership interesting is that most of them primarily work overseas. According to the organization, their voluntary registration indicates growing global trust in Korea’s performer rights system, especially given how widely K-pop content is now consumed.
“In a time when K-pop content is spreading worldwide, it is meaningful that artists active mainly overseas have voluntarily joined FKMP,” shared Cho Hyun, head of the group’s overseas database team. He added that FKMP aims to continue supporting both local and international performers so they receive the rights and recognition they’re entitled to.
FKMP itself has been around since 1988 and represents performers across genres—from pop and classical to traditional Korean gugak. Its membership continues to grow, with Wendy of Red Velvet recently marking their 50,000th member milestone.
With Saja Boys now stepping out of the animated world and into real-life music activities, fans might soon see more content tied to the vocal personalities behind the film’s standout group.
