Korean-American artist EJAE, the powerhouse behind Rumi’s songs in the hit Netflix animated film, just announced that she’s releasing a brand new single titled “In Another World” on October 24, 2025.

The singer-songwriter shared the news through a heartfelt handwritten letter on Instagram, where she opened up about her creative journey and the meaning behind the track.

“I’ve decided I want my artist project to give life to those songs, so people can laugh, dance, or cry with me and the amazing collaborators who helped create them,” EJAE wrote.

She revealed that “In Another World” is one of those personal songs that helped her through tough times, and now, she hopes it will do the same for others.

EJAE has had a whirlwind year thanks to the success of KPop Demon Hunters, which introduced her voice to a global audience. The film, about three K-pop idols who secretly fight demons (because of course they do), became one of 2025’s biggest streaming hits.

“People keep referring to me as an ‘artist’ or a ‘star’—which is everything 11-year-old EJAE dreamed of, but over the years, I became comfortable behind the scenes,” she admitted. “Recently though, I realized I don’t need to box myself into being the traditional view of an artist.”

Before stepping into the spotlight, EJAE, born Kim Eun-jae, spent years honing her craft behind the scenes. She was once a trainee under SM Entertainment, and while she never debuted as an idol, she went on to write songs for some of K-pop’s biggest names, including Red Velvet, TWICE, and aespa.

Now, with her new single on the horizon, EJAE is ready to claim her moment, not as Rumi, not just as a songwriter, but as herself.

And if that’s not exciting enough, EJAE, along with her KPop Demon Hunters co-stars Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna, just performed their hit track “Golden” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, plus made a surprise Saturday Night Live cameo with Bad Bunny.

Clearly, this is EJAE’s era, and we’re all here for it.
