In case you missed it, Rihanna has just launched her own makeup line called Fenty Beauty, named after Rihanna’s last name (her real name is Robyn Fenty). Yet even as she joins a long list of celebrities who have launched their own beauty collections, it’s clear that the multi-awarded pop star’s effort stands out from the rest.
Since Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty, the brand has immediately garnered praise from beauty lovers and just about every woman of color worldwide, that has little to do with the fact that she’s a celebrity, but more on the fact that she’s managed to achieve what other makeup companies have struggled to do — her foundation range has 40 shades that ACTUALLY match a whole spectrum of skin colors! Her collection is so diverse and inclusive, that it found a perfect match in this woman with albinism…
…. and this woman with a dark skin tone.
Makeup For Ever, however, a brand that’s been around since 1984, is not here for the breakthrough that Fenty Beauty has managed to accomplish. Instead, the brand took to Instagram to remind their followers that 40 shades is “nothing new” to them.
