Singer-actress Rica Peralejo couldn’t help but get emotional after she returned to the ABS-CBN building to guest in the variety show “ASAP Natin ‘To!” in which she used to be a mainstay host prior to quitting showbiz.
In an Instagram post, Rica looked back on the memories of growing up in the entertainment industry and how much it had shaped who she is right now.

“This hallway, next to my own home, has been the space of my childhood. Everything feels different while also everything feels familiar. Like it was only yesterday. Part of me is emotional, and maybe that comes with your 40s and you realize so much of what shaped your life. How some things began. And it reminded me today of how I never wanted to be popular, and that I only wanted to be a performer. It reminded me also of hard work. It reminded me of how humbling it is to be in this business, of how you cannot be entitled,” she said in her post.
“It also reminded me of my sister. She was the one who brought me into this building. I entered ABSCBN that day as a regular kid with an ice cream stain on her peach shirt she bought on sale in Cinderella, and went out with a new direction in her hands,” she continued. “TOO. MANY. MEMORIES. TOO. MANY. DEFINING. MOMENTS. Nag-asap lang naman dapat diba? (I only went there for “ASAP,” right?)”
Rica had reunited with her “ASAP” batchmates Jolina Magdagal and Nikki Valdez during her guesting last July 4, and had performed with them and alongside Regine Velasquez and Zsa Zsa Padilla.
She then posted a separate Instagram Reel to share highlights from her ABS-CBN “homecoming.”
“Being on television last Sunday again reminded me of how lucky I was to have grown up performing alongside some of the greatest names in the industry since I was 12 years old. I no longer sing for a living but when I was invited I said yes kasi napakakapal naman ng mukha ko mag-no after sabihin kasama ko ay no less than ZsaZsa P and Regine V. (because who am I to say no after I was told that I’ll be with no less than ZsaZsa P and Regine V?) At higit sa lahat, na magkadressing room kaming muli nila [Nikki] at [Jolina] na ang lakas makabalik ng many good memories. Thanks [Darla Sauler] ininvite mo ako. Hindi ko akalain na maeenjoy ko pala ito (And above all, I was in a dressing room once more with Nikki and Jolina who went on a trip down memory lane. Thanks Darla for inviting me. I didn’t expect that I would enjoy this),” she said.
