Craving for Awesome Hotdogs? Make Sure to Check Out These Restaurants

Hotdog Manila

Hotdogs are an awesome snack because they’re portable and can be eaten anywhere. It’s also fully customizable: you can have the classic version with just a dog, some ketchup, and mayo, or you can go all out with the toppings. If you’re looking for a good place to get hotdogs, here are some of our recommendations:

Pink’s Hot Dogs

A list of restaurants that have awesome hotdogs wouldn’t be complete without Pink’s Hot Dogs. It’s described as a Hollywood legend and has attracted movie stars and locals in Los Angeles. It has since been called the #1 hot dog in America by different publications. What makes Pink’s Manila special is that it is the first international franchise of the hotdog stand. We recommend The Hollywood Legend, which has Pink’s famous chili, cheddar cheese, mustard, and chopped onion. Feeling like getting a hotdog in the morning? The Breakfast All Day Dog is bacon-wrapped and comes with crispy potatoes, a fried egg, cheddar, hollandaise, and ketchup.

Locations: G/F Shangri-la at the fort, 5th Avenue, Cresent Park, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City / Okada Manila, New Seaside Dr, Entertainment City, Parañaque / Little Flour branches in Salcedo Village and Megamall, Wildflour in Greenhills / Pink’s Alabang (delivery only)

Nathan’s Famous

Nathan’s Famous is another American import that made a big splash in Manila. This hotdog chain opened in 1916 in Coney Island, New York. Their offerings are straightforward but don’t let it fool you. Their hotdogs are flavorful and delicious. The Chili Cheese Dog is a classic, but you can take it up a notch with the Jalapeño Cheese Dog.

Locations: Ground Floor, Met Live Mall, EDSA Corner Macapagal Boulevard / Ayala Malls Vertis North, Bagong Pag-Asa, Quezon City

Jollibee

Jollibee’s Jolly Hotdog still slaps today. It’s a hotdog sandwich we’re all familiar with since we grew up with it and it tastes just as awesome today. The restaurant uses a meaty sausage in a soft bun and topped with a tangy special dressing and ketchup. You can have it with no cheese with the Regular Jolly Hotdog, but we love the Cheesy Classic Jolly Hotdog.

Three Guys and a Grill

Three Guys and a Grill takes hotdogs to the next level with their gourmet offerings that focus on quality, simplicity, and taste. This restaurant uses delicatessen sausages (and beef patties ground fresh daily for their burgers) wrapped in freshly-baked bread. Their sauces are also homemade. Try the Bird Dog, which has curry chicken sausage, sriracha mayo, homemade ketchup, grilled onions, and sliced pickles. If you’re feeling ravenous, get the Big American with a jumbo beef hotdog, homemade ketchup, cheese, guava mustard, fresh or grilled onions, and pickle relish. They will soon be introducing the Pepper Dog, which has peppery Hungarian sausage, black pepper aioli, a sliced pickle, and crispy fried onions on top.

Locations: 4364, B. Valdez St. Poblacion, Makati / North Arcade, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay / NAIA 3 Departure Area / 9/3 Escario Street, Cebu / 3rd Floor, Food Court Southwoods Mall

S&R

S&R serves no-frills hotdogs and that’s what we love about it. It’s a big all-beef hotdog wrapped in a bun. The best part is that you can customize your hotdog. You’re free to put as much ketchup, mayo, mustard, relish, and onions as you want. Do you prefer your hotdog sandwiches swimming in ketchup? Go for it at S&R.

Landers also have hotdogs worth ordering. Theirs are simple but packed with flavor. Choose between the U.S. Salisbury Franks, U.S. Famous Beef Hotdog, and the U.S. Beef Jalapeño & Cheese Hotdog. They recently launched the Cheesy Smoked Hotdog, a combination of smoky pork sausage and chunks of melty cheese There’s something for everyone here.

Another Poblacion must-try is Wicked Dogs. This joint serves classic hotdogs and those with international flavors. There’s the Plain Jane, a hotdog sandwich with just ketchup, mayo, and mustard. On the opposite end of the spectrum is the Johnny Sins’ Everything on It, which has chili con carne, bacon bits, cheese, pickle relish, and salsa fresca. We recommend going for the specialty dogs: the Wasabi Dog is smeared with wasabi mayo, katsu sauce, katsuobushi (bonito flakes), and julienned seaweed chips. The Shawarma Dog brings Middle Eastern flavors with chili con carne, cheese sauce, cucumber, cabbage, onions, tomatoes, garlic white sauce, and streaks of hot sauce. The Tijuana Bacon Dog’s hotdog is wrapped in bacon and topped with cheese sauce, chili con carne, and a fried egg.

Location: 5767 Ebro St., Bgy. Poblacion, Makati

Gorae Hotdog Philippines

We love everything related to Korea and that includes hotdogs! Koreans eat theirs in unique ways, such as dipped in batter and rolled in potatoes or noodles. If you’re in mood for some K-hotdogs, we recommend Gorae Hotdog Philippines. Their standard Gorae Hotdog is a chicken dog wrapped in batter, while the Jumbo Hotdog is a bigger version made with whole beef. If you’re a fan of cheese, try the Mozza Jumbo Hotdog, which is half mozzarella cheese and half beef hotdog. Just want cheese? Get the Whole Mozzarella instead. They even have a unique dog called the Mochi Hotdog, which is half glutinous rice and half beef hotdog. Want everything? The Rainbow Hotdog is a mix of mozzarella, mochi, and beef hotdog. Add P20 to roll it in potatoes or ramen noodles.

Charlie’s Grind & Grill

Charlie’s Grind & Grill’s Snap dawgs are a must-try. They have well-loved flavors such as Chili Cheese and the Chicago Dawg, but we’d go for the Kitchen Sink. This has cheddar cheese slices, jalapeño peppers, bacon, white onions, tomatoes, relish, sauerkraut, mustard, and salsa. It’s a bit of everything and that’s what we want.
