While Rachel Peters has been keeping her training on the down low unlike her predecessors, the 26-year-old Binibining Pilipinas-Universe titleholder assured that she was ready to win the Miss Universe crown.
The Philippines has seen a resurgence in the global pageant scene, after 2010 Miss Universe-Philippines Venus Raj landed in the top 5 of the Miss Universe competition. Other titleholders have since met and exceeded that feat, such as Janine Tugonon placing first runner-up in the 2012 Miss Universe competition to Miss USA, Olivia Culpo, until Pia Wurtzbach finally ended the country’s 42-year drought and finally clinched the crown in 2015!
As the Philippines has done consistently well in pageants in recent years, how does Rachel Peters feel about living up to the pressure?
According to the British-Filipina, the achievements of Pinay beauty queens abroad just inspires her to work harder.
“These ladies make me feel really proud.
They have set the bar so high making me want to work even harder or do even better.
When asked whether she was ready for Miss Universe, Rachel answered:
“It’s taken an army to be ready for this pageant. And yes! I am ready for the Miss Universe pageant.
We’re wishing the best for you, Rachel!
