A Quiet Place was a sleeper hit when it was released in 2018, going unnoticed for a bit after it premiered before it suddenly boomed and became a critical and financial success.
The film was co-written and directed by John Krasinski and told the story of a family who had to live in complete silence in a world where any noise could get them viciously killed by monsters. Krasinski also starred in the film alongside his real-life wife, Emily Blunt.
Because of its success, a sequel was almost immediately green-lit by Paramount Pictures. As reported by ComingSoon.net, the studio has also confirmed that The Dark Knight’s Cillian Murphy and Child’s Play’s Brian Tyree Henry will join the returning cast. No plot details have been revealed yet, but Krasinski will return to write and direct.
Hopefully, we’ll see more of the monsters from the first movie in the sequel, and maybe even an expansion of the backstory of how the world turned into a quiet place?
A Quiet Place 2 is set to hit cinemas in March 2020.
