President Duterte Suspends Classes From March 10 to 14 in Metro Manila

During a press conference this Monday night, March 9, President Rodrigo Duterte announced the suspension of classes at all levels in the National Capital Region (NCR). He stated that the suspension would span from March 10 (Tuesday) until March 14 (Saturday).

He explained that the length of the suspension is due to the incubation period of the coronavirus.

Only a few hours prior to this announcement, the Department of Health (DOH) released the news that 10 new coronavirus cases had tested positive. That brought the tally to 20 cases within the Philippines.

However, in the same press conference, President Duterte revealed that an additional 4 cases have tested positive for the coronavirus. The DOH has yet to release information on this.

President Duterte noted that students should use the time afforded by the suspension to continue their studies at home.
