The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed late Sunday evening 4 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases. All 4 patients were tested on Saturday and had results confirmed by Sunday.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque disclosed to CNN Philippines the various hospitals which the 4 patients are currently admitted at.
(More than 50% of coronavirus patients worldwide have recovered)
The information is as follows:
- 38-year-old Taiwanese man (no history of travel outside the Philippines) – Makati Medical Center
- 32-year-old Filipino (traveled to Japan) – St. Luke’s Medical Center BGC
- 86-year-old American national (traveled to the United States and South Korea) – Medical City Ortigas
- 57-year-old Filipino (no history of travel outside the Philippines) – St. Luke’s Medical Center Quezon City
Duque revealed that all 4 are showing mild symptoms of COVID-19.
Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro confirmed that the American national is a resident of their city. He began showing symptoms last March 1. Teodoro has already ordered the disinfection of the city.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines is currently at 10.
