Once done with the pampering upstairs, it was time to head back down to see to my tangled mess of hair.

Even though I was super pleased by the knowledge that I could have my hair dyed blue or violet here, I decided to go for something a bit more subdued this time around, and opted for a gingery shade of reddish brown. My freckles may cover my shoulders instead of my face, but I’ve always believed I was meant to be a ginger.
The same girl who worked on my nails was doing my hair, and knowing what a great job she did already with my beautiful nail art, I was able to relax and put my faith in her. After a few bad experiences with salons, I get a bit jumpy when someone new is touching my hair, but I trusted this girl already and was confident in her beautician abilities. I also learned from the owner that every employee at Posh Tips has gone through trade school and done a lot of training before they were hired here, so you are truly in the hands of experts!
She mixed up the perfect shade of red that I asked for, and got to work, tirelessly applying the dye one small section at a time. After waiting a while for the dye to set in, it was washing out but I still had to wait to see the final result, because it was time for the keratin treatment! My hair tends to get a bit frizzy in this heat and humidity, so I was looking forward to having this done and having straighter, healthier, more manageable hair. It took a little less time than the dyeing did, and then finally – it was time to see the results! My beautician blow-dried and then flat ironed my hair, and then I finally got to see the complete job.
I was absolutely thrilled! The color was even better than I had imagined and I loved the way my newly straightened hair felt. The keratin treatment left it feeling much healthier than when I’d walked in to the spa that morning, and it was so silky smooth. I know it’s going to last for at least several weeks, but I almost can’t wait for it to fade already so I can go back again to try a wilder shade, perhaps purple next time!
